MY STORY SO FAR…
It has been a long road to get to where I am today. For a lot of my life I lived from the rehearsed scripts of my trauma and insecure beliefs. Without fully realizing it, these old patterns kept me spinning. Working in jobs that left me unfulfilled and struggling to pay my bills, bouncing from relationship to relationship, chronically unexpressed emotions that triggered physical illness and addictive behaviors. Deep down I knew I wasn't living my highest truth. I craved real intimacy, vulnerability, and a soul aligned life. I knew I was destined for more, and I knew there must be a better way.
Over several decades of personal growth and development pursuits I dove head first into studying psychotherapy, mindfulness meditation and manifestation practices, Reiki energy healing, dance, body work, nervous system re-patterning, Kabbalah, and attachment theory. I learned about the power of our thoughts, that thoughts turn into beliefs, and beliefs dictate the quality of our lives. Change did not come easy at first. In fact, it took me many years to learn the tools to live a soulfully clean and aligned life, gain the confidence to take inspired action, fail fast, and develop the right mindset to actualize what my heart truly desired. Many times I felt like surrendering to “good enough,” yet as I persisted with integrating what I was learning, profound results began revealing themselves.
In my 20’s I built a successful massage therapy business in the Midwest. Instinctually I understood we are not merely bodies, but a complex mix of physical, mental-emotional, and soul. My ongoing pursuit of deeper understanding and inquiry lead me to graduate school at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado for a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and from there, a career as a Licensed Professional Counselor for 20 years and counting. Nearly 10 of those years were spent in the addiction recovery field as counselor, group facilitator, educator, and supervisor.
Thereafter, I stepped back from my career for a period of time and endeavored on the journey of a lifetime and became the mother of two incredible children, only 18 months apart. Those early years were as chaotic and blissful as you might imagine!
In 2017 my therapy counseling practice became reinvigorated by a dream. Literally. Sitting in my hairstylist’s chair, I began to recount a dream I had the night before. Suddenly, it became clear the message in the dream was meant for her. Every detail. Every name, description, and circumstance was an accurate account of what was unfolding in her life at that time. We cried. We had chills. She received healing. It was then I began offering intuitive readings. This era was surprising and expansive, though I felt called to serve at a deeper level beyond singular sessions. As I began tapping back into my psychotherapy roots, I transitioned from intuitive readings to focusing on my ever evolving intuitive psychotherapy practice. As my practice began filling up, my personal life was slowly unraveling.
Soon after the pandemic a wave of loss moved through my life like a torrent. I filed for divorce in 2023 to finally declare “no more” and break the alcoholic and addiction patterns that had plagued and defined many of my relationships. It was one of the most excruciating decisions I had to make for my children and I. What followed was an unimaginable, agonizing grief process, showing up to practice forgiveness (so much forgiveness and grace), and figuring out who I was becoming after leaving a version of myself I had known for a lifetime. Playing with questions like “Who Am I Really?” and “What Do I Most Want To Claim And Create This Lifetime?” has opened me up to my creativity, to following the energy of pleasure, and being more fulfilled than ever by the depth of working with clients.
All perceived obstacles, trauma patterns, road blocks, memorized emotions, and challenges have the potential to open doors to your highest self. You have this POWER! This moment in your life requires great courage—to go from sleepwalking through midlife, to becoming fully visible and free to thrive.
