Motivation vs. Inspiration

Motivation vs. Inspiration

Ahh, yes, the age old dilemma, do we take action from a place of motivation or inspiration. What really is the difference anyhow? So often we have the best of intentions for growing our business, improving the primary relationship, advocating for a raise, being a better parent…and can even feel highly motivated to make change. B U T the big but gets in the way. The number one complaint people have when it comes to creating change is “there is not enough time!”

The experience of feeling overwhelmed is not actually about having too much to do; rather, it is about not knowing exactly how to prioritize what needs to happen first. With motivation there often comes expectation—how long will it take to achieve the desired outcome, second guessing the merit of our striving, and general spinning of the wheels that can feel paralyzing.

THE PRACTICE

Inspiration inherently brings with it J O Y and expansion. Stop and ask yourself “how do I want to feel?” The next step is to align your emotional mind + thoughts + and embody that experience on a physical level. To access this place, I invite you to ask yourself this one question.

FREEDOM FROM __________WOULD GIVE ME THE CONFIDENCE TO_________.

You may be surprised by your answers! The state of relaxation gives way to inspiration and the flow of joy. Schedule today if you feel inspired and would love some support on your journey.

Big love +
